Dayshift Production Supervisor
We’re looking for a new Rock(it) star to be the “coordinator of apple packing operations” in our high tech packhouse on day shift. The Role
This permanent full time role reports to the Shift Manager and is second in charge, acting up into the Shift Manager role as required. You will be responsible for coordinating staff and operations to drive apple throughput in the packhouse.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage the flow of apples to people and plant availability
- Leading the Technician team to ensure the Spectrum system and equipment operates efficiently and accurately.
- Identify packhouse efficiencies to optimise the flow of fruit at all times
- Problem-solving for processing issues that arise
- Production analysis and reporting
- Document best practice and provide training to enhance performance
Our packing season starts mid-late February and goes through to the end of October – mid November.
Day Shift hours are Monday-Saturday, 6am - 4pm during the season up to 65 hours per week and Monday-Friday offseason up to 40 hours per week.
Skills You Need
- Team leadership experience
- Relevant production experience, in a packhouse, food manufacturing or related environment
- Sound knowledge of Compac Spectrum software, or similar (preferred).
- Experience working with strict product, process and packaging standards, regulations, and market access requirements.
- Experience training and supervising others
- Understanding of the commercial drivers of production performance
- Reporting, SOP writing and IT capability
